SAMA Intervention 2 – Zambia

Smart Africa Markets for All (SAMA) – Intervention 2 Zambia is a four year digital skills and economic empowerment programme implemented by NetOne Foundation Limited in partnership with Smart Africa and the Mastercard Foundation.

The programme is designed to equip young people and women with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to participate meaningfully in Zambia's rapidly growing digital economy.

SAMA Intervention 2 combines digital skills development, entrepreneurship, financial capability, employability, safeguarding and community empowerment to create sustainable pathways to employment, business growth and lifelong learning.

As the implementing partner for SAMA Intervention 2 Zambia, NetOne Foundation is committed to delivering high quality, inclusive and evidence based programmes that respond to community needs while supporting Zambia's digital transformation agenda.

AISHA Programme

AISHA – Empowering Women Through Digital and Financial Skills

AISHA is a flagship intervention under SAMA Intervention 2 Zambia, designed to equip women and girls with practical digital, financial and entrepreneurial skills that strengthen their businesses, improve financial resilience and expand economic opportunities.

Participants build confidence in using digital technologies, managing finances, accessing markets and growing sustainable enterprises within safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Programme Locations

SAMA is a national programme that will scale across all provinces of Zambia. The Pilot and Co-Creation Phase is currently being implemented in:

  • Lusaka Province
  • Copperbelt Province

Following validation of the programme model through the pilot and co-creation process, AISHA will be progressively scaled across all ten provinces of Zambia.

Eligibility

The programme is open to women and girls seeking to strengthen their businesses, improve financial resilience and expand economic opportunities.

NALA

NALA Programme

NALA – Building Zambia's Next Generation of Cybersecurity Professionals

NALA is the advanced digital skills and cybersecurity employability pathway under SAMA Intervention 2 Zambia.

The programme prepares young people for careers in cybersecurity and the wider digital economy through practical laboratories, hands on learning, mentorship, workplace simulations and career readiness support.

Participants develop technical competence, professional confidence and practical workplace experience that prepares them for entry level employment, internships and long term career growth.
